Custom Quilting Services

For people who prefer, we can complete your quilt tops for you. All quilting services are done by Pat Barry unless otherwise arranged. Pat has been sewing since she was a teenager, quilting since the 90's, long-arm machine quilting since her retirement in 2000, and teaching long-arm machine quilting since opening in 2002. She has won ribbons in local and regional quilt shows and was juried into the AQS Expo Show in Nashville in 2002. Please feel free to ask to see the photo albums of quilts she has completed for herself and others.

The price will vary depending on what type of quilting you want done.

Generally there are four pricing categories:
"A" is All-over - one design, edge-to-edge across the quilt is $.02 / Sq Inch.
"B" is Borders - two designs like adding a border design or a stencil motif is $.03 / Sq Inch.
"C" is Custom - multiple designs, borders or interlocking designs is $.04 / Sq Inch.
"D" is Designer - special effects like trapunto or thread painting are quoted individually.

Many details affect the cost of professional quilting services.
The best way to determine what the cost would be is to bring in your quilt top and discuss the details. We take measurements, show you samples of different quilting designs and discuss choices of batting and thread. The estimates listed above include the cost of batting (up to 90" wide) and thread in many different solid colors. Our base products are Quilters Dream Select Poly, for those who like the feel and drape of cotton, and Hobbs Polydown, for those who like the puffier look of polyester batting. We carry other batting & threads but there may be an extra charge, depending on the choices.

We have a Quilting Estimate Worksheet that is completed during our discussion. The worksheet includes details on the quilting, thread, batting, backing, binding and special handling. Any areas of concern will be noted. We can provide the backing, do the binding, ironing or perform other services (like shipping) upon request. When you leave your quilt to be finished we finalize the worksheet, agree on the pricing and set a completion date. We both sign the worksheet and you get a copy.

We don't ask for advance deposits but we do require payment in full when you pick up your quilt. Sales tax applies to all purchases, services and rentals, but not to class fees, per Wisconsin state tax laws. We accept Visa, MasterCard, checks or cash. At this time we do not accept American Express or Discover. All prices are subject to change without notice. Any quilt that is not claimed (and paid for) within three months of completion will be donated or raffled.

Gift Certificates are available in any denomination.
